Frequently Asked Questions
Is Acupuncture right for me?
The World Health Organisation (WHO) recognises acupuncture as an effective treatment for more than 50 conditions. Information and individual fact-sheets on for many specific conditions can be accessed on The British Acupuncture Council website www.acupuncture.org.uk
Acupuncture does not provide a miracle cure, similarly you wouldn't expect one pill to cure your all your problems. Patients really need to commit toa minimum of 4-6 treatments to really assess the benefits.

What should I expect from my first session?
This first extended session lasting 1.5 to 2 hrs consists of in-depth gathering of information plus a treatment. Questioning covers both your main complaint, but also about you as an individual. During this session, you may be asked lots of questions you may think are not relevant, but Chinese medicine treats in a different way to western medicine. You are treated as a whole unique person, body mind and spirit. To achieve this a very detailed picture needs to be built up.

How should I prepare for my first treatment?
Wear lose comfortable clothing that can be removed if needed. If removal of clothes is necessary, gowns are provided and your privacy and comfort is paramount at all times.

Please ensure you have eaten and are well hydrated before treatment.
